The 2018 Eugene McDermott Award in the Arts at MIT was awarded to performing artist Audra McDonald at a celebratory gala dinner in April 2018.

The invitations to the gala include an embossed illustration based on the lattice pattern of the window panes prevalent in the event space, MIT’s historic Walker Memorial Building. The half-circles are turned on their sides to mimic the “C” and “D” in the McDermott Award logo and placed across the seam of the gate-fold invitation.
